PSU Scandal

Living outside Philadelphia, the Penn State Football program scandal is all over the news right now. 

The whole thing is just atrocious.  My heart goes out to the victims and their families. 

This is a very hot debate and political topic right now so I all I want to share is this:

I also want to know what happened to the legal and moral obligations of being a "mandated reporter" as a person working in a school, with kids?  I came across this blog post written in MN so I am anxious to read the update.

Apples, Cider, and Fall Leaves

If you love 'anything apples' than you will love the Apple Festival at Peddler's Village in Lahaska, PA.

My family has made it a tradition to attend the Apple Fest every year.  We love the hot cider and vegetable soup that cooks in a huge black kettle over an open fire.  Not to mention the delicious apple treats like fritters, dumplings, and apples dipped in caramel.  YUM!  Plus there are always great bands performing in the gazebo so the kids can dance and get some energy out.
